Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wealthpadi (“Wealthpadi”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our app (the “Service”). We aim to align with recognised data-protection principles, including applicable law such as Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your name and email when you sign up with email/password, or the name, email, and profile info shared by Google when you sign in with Google.
• Financial information you enter — transactions, budgets, goals, holdings, debts, loans, your chosen currency, and similar data you add to organise your finances.
• Chat content — the messages you send to Maya and, where relevant, a snapshot of your financial data used to answer you.
• Technical & usage data — device and browser information, push-notification tokens (if you enable notifications), and basic activity needed to run and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

• Provide and operate the Service and compute your summaries, budgets, and net worth.
• Power Maya’s responses and personalise guidance to your data.
• Send notifications you have chosen to receive (e.g. safe-to-spend reminders).
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
• Improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. AI processing

To generate Maya’s replies, your chat messages and a snapshot of your financial data are sent to third-party AI model providers. When Maya looks up live information (such as prices or rates), the relevant search query may be sent to a third-party search provider. These providers process the data to return a response and are not permitted to use it to build unrelated products.

To improve Maya, we may keep anonymized copies of conversations (your message and Maya’s reply, and any rating you give) that are not linked to your identity — no name, email, or account id is stored with them. We use these only to find and fix where Maya gives weak answers, never to identify you.

4. Legal bases

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for example, push notifications), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.

5. Sharing & service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under agreements to protect it:

• Database & authentication hosting (stores your account and data securely);
• AI model provider(s) (generate Maya’s responses);
• Market-data & web-search provider (live figures Maya quotes);
• Push-notification services (Apple, Google, and/or Expo) if you enable alerts;
• Application hosting for the app and API.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected in line with this Policy.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we delete it, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.

8. Security

We use measures such as encryption in transit and per-user access controls so you can only access your own data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export, or delete your data, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing. You can edit and delete data directly in the app, or contact us to exercise your rights at admin@wealthpadi.com.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Cookies & local storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your notification and install choices. We do not use them for third-party advertising.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app where appropriate.
